A Chicago native and graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Anne is a multimedia journalist for Newsday.com.

Before her entree into journalism, Anne graduated in 2002 from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. As both an English major and scholarship athlete, she divided her time between studying contemporary lit and competing in track & field races.

Prior to moving to New York, she was employed as a media buyer at Starcom Worldwide in Chicago. Her ad savvy paid off – she was transferred to the Manhattan office in January 2004 to work on the Coca Cola business.

In October 2006, Anne graduated with her masters in journalism. At Newsday.com she conceptualizes and develops multimedia projects and produces original video. Prior to Newsday, she worked at XLR8R, a music and culture magazine, and at Barron's as an online news assistant.

Her new media master's thesis, Scienceandsex.com, recently won two Webby Awards in the Student category and was nominated for an Online Journalism Award, also in the Student category. The site explores through three stories how science and technology are changing dating, mating and love more dramatically and rapidly than ever before. Each story is complemented by explanatory graphics, photo slideshows, interactive elements and Flash videos.

Anne's print articles have appeared in Newsday, The Arizona Republic, The Toronto Star, the San Diego Union-Tribune and other newspapers in the U.S. and Canada.

On her down time you might catch her noshing at a hip Brooklyn joint, tracking down off-beat music, or brainstorming the next Web revolution.
